Tip 1: You don't have to make something like new Facebook or Twitter in every hackathon, You can make something that already exists yet in your way! Although innovation is always appreciated and you can always be the best by doing that.

Tip 2: Don't work on the project which already you started making before the hackathon period starts if you do that you might be disqualified and that's WORSE. But if it is allowed by the organisers then you can obviously

Tip 3: Copying code from Stack Overflow and GitHub are common in hackathons but don't copy-paste everything from one project and make it yours. Every Coder knows how to copy code skilfully so you know.

Tip 4: Working in teams is way better than working alone, as it's more fun. But if the hackathon allows Single participation you can go as a ONE-man army.

Tip 5: Remember Hackathons are for FUN and it's the best thing a developer can do. There is free food, swags and a lot of networking. So remember to have FUN and make memories.
